After Prom begins one hour after prom ends, giving the kids enough time to come home and change, and lasts until 3am. I'm tired of giving flowers and gift cards, so I've been searching Etsy for unique handmade gifts to give (and receive!). I thought I'd share with you some of my finds.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 132px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYqlvCUvp5JrMcD2f0PhwFfRaYEa-YQ6N8smvTxNV9UGmFXGdBobdh_Aq7Rmv4qAoh0nvNqtNNNvym74WgeH2oDOONRCNSU-jRZVmTNkKPDsSI4YEYFfRmpck_61QNU4zBIOhWsEOPy8l3/s200/il_430xN_119528981.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462737988630943698" />I've had my eye on these etui manicure boxes for a while now. They would be such a clever gift idea for the mom who has everything. Etui needlework boxes are also available. This would definitely stand out and I can almost promise you no one else will be getting her the same thing! They're very affordable at $18.50 each and are available at www.sparetimecrafts.etsy.com.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 175px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_uWh8E7JyuGGH_C3HFGWBE3KVYwYuzxoFFKfvV6YvbBHZBUR_wlTFaf0GOP2Dodzid4a9mYyRIGrreET9Yt8Tf7yO1II4Xb3IFA5m9L10r-NHzcHD_auMza9OSASSAz33Ajv0ARdUJW2u/s200/il_430xN_129027061.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462731915965344242" />
You can never go wrong with a candle. Especially a wild cherry cheesecake jumbo cupcake candle from www.sugarvillecandles.etsy.com! Does that look good enough to eat, or what? I don't think that's recommended, but it would be hard to resist. For just $16.95, you will receive a candle that is well over a 1/2 lb. and will fill your room with wild cherry cheesecake aroma! Yummy!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgr_oQsV1XqC5i-rhDVchx60r3h3yTD516k_J_Po5ZmJwGFrXqNHXt9jbYfRdnOE9AMHXKEPQkeUQGcaDx9O4hCCMoJfopq7SbkK9W_QC0IAR-43NSnMNxZr-r_ZB8dUN7V6AMTseSLp5Y5/s200/il_430xN_129136063.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462735517422646018" />

Of course, everyone loves jewelry! These earrings are available at www.dreambelledesign.etsy.com for only $21.00. I purchased a similar pair for myself in blue and they are absolutely stunning! The owner, Susan, is a lovely lady who is a pleasure to work with. My earrings were shipped quickly, packaged adorably and couldn't be more gorgeous. I've received tons of compliments!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 130px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7V3P64WIJw5x598I_wdxQHtNKeL-zI8oJPs58qoD3bnkefp5dMNJ7vQ_BPB1dtFtmJqt9sr0vS2b71iK8GpJOsRKfmNnWGtmKMZlu-84I5pJo8WLutlfphcrJonr9fH1V_xqWNXXfk7jL/s200/il_430xN_136255521.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462737278539626290" />Another great find was this gourmet style mini recipe album with recipe cards. It's not really the way I prefer to spend my time, but it had to be done.

I've also picked up a few new wholesale accounts, which I'm very excited about! They've been keeping me busy during this slow Etsy spring.

In addition, I've been squeezing in some time to create new bridal jewelry and summer accessories that I can't wait to debut in my shop. They'll be coming soon, so keep an eye out!

On the home front, prom is coming! We picked up my daughter's gown this week for her Junior Prom. It's a gorgeous royal blue with sequin designs. I'll definitely post the pics next month.

Also, the weather's been beautiful so we've been washing down the decks, cleaning off the patio furniture, mowing the lawn...all the fun stuff that comes with nice weather. :D

I'll post again soon. Hope you all take care and have a wonderful week!
~BonnieBonniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15144534266883518726noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6516961001049572879.post-23071814735104326492010-03-31T18:16:00.000-07:002010-03-31T18:24:58.308-07:00Great GiveawaysHello all! In my defense, my 16 year old daughter (pictured) is a die-hard fan, so I was really just the chaperone/chauffer.

When she was younger we used to stand in line at midnight for Harry Potter book releases, so we've become quite the professional midnight shoppers.

I am happy to announce that after one hour of standing, listening to people complain about everything from the line to the fact that they didn't offer refreshments and running in to everyone from my daughter's youth pastor to one of her teachers, we became the proud owners of the special fan edition of Twilight New Moon and bonus cd.

Then we got home and our dvd player broke. One year we had the kids and all their cousins rolling Easter eggs up a hill in our front yard with their noses to win prizes! You've heard of "What would you do for a Klondike bar?". You'd be amazed what children will do for toys from the Dollar Store and bragging rights. The house I grew up in sat directly behind a railroad track. It was part of the Reading Railroad line (yes, the same Reading Railroad from the Monopoly game). I can remember waking up in the middle of the night to a train roaring and shaking our house.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzLZXoDSj6ylPmO27kJkwnmoZRfA1RD8Q01b7TP94GGZMDBN-imGeNmMbfe3oT2oROsx1bdptkKoyS2LctHCg2LDkxBHp4uDbL-ltub4fy1ZcLgBkuAGuEfYk9v318cedHq__HNC9xGvws/s320/rail_trail_north_from_elizabeth_ave.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5450524511051179506" />Now, as an adult, that same railroad track has been converted into a community trail for walking, jogging, biking and dog walking thanks to the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC). The RTC works with local communities to map multi-use trails out of obsolete railroads.

The trail in our area (known as the Rail Trail) is 1.75 miles long. When weather permits, I walk the rail trail from one end to the other and back for a healthy 3.5 mile walk at least three times per week. Over the past few years it's become my therapy. Forget shrinks and yoga, just give me an mp3 player and a pair of sneakers and all my troubles melt away.

For information on trails in your area, visit www.traillink.com .Bonniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15144534266883518726noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6516961001049572879.post-44432031216114329152010-02-14T16:04:00.000-08:002010-02-14T16:19:21.344-08:00Happy Valentine's Day!Some cute stories and fun facts for Valentine's Day.

VALENTINE CHIHUAHUA PUPPY
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 298px; height: 206px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSmuyvtIuzTdLlr0z-IKW5_TQmTdYzJDC6Zu8LeMvRCmyIyWACVJfLbNvJQrgJPDQzP4s912PQadt6rQijWt1Eph4LYx8SGSx-GZKoS-MvCWwdOMKIGbhmJQc8MhPzkOAZpnjXFFL4Q1SB/s320/valentine_dog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438255727118733250" />This Chihuahua puppy literally wears its heart on its sleeve. The cute male pooch, born with a perfect heart-shaped patch on its side, has been suitably named Heartkun by its owner in northern Japan. The one-and-a-half-month-old pup was born as one of a big litter, but is the only new arrival to sport such a heart-warming coat.

According to owner Emiko Sakurada, and reported in the Daily Mail, this is the first occasion a puppy with such marks had been born out of the more than one thousand Chihuahuas she has bred.

VALENTINE'S DAY CARDS TRIVIA
♥ Teachers will receive the most Valentine's Day cards, followed by children, mothers, wives, and then, sweethearts. Children ages 6 to 10 exchange more than 650 million Valentine's cards with teachers, classmates, and family members.
♥ Approximately 1 billion Valentine's Day cards are exchanged on February 14th each year - the largest seasonal card-sending occasion of the year, next to Christmas .
♥ According to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated one billion valentine cards are sent each year, making Valentine's Day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year. [An estimated 2.6 billion cards are sent for Christmas].
♥ Hallmark has over 1330 different cards specifically for Valentine's Day.

A THOUGHTFUL VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT
Jim asked his friend, Tony, whether he had bought his wife anything for Valentine's Day. 'Yes,' came the answer from Tony who was a bit of a chauvinist, 'I've bought her a belt and a bag.' 'That was very kind of you,' Jim added, 'I hope she appreciated the thought.' Tony smiled as he replied, 'So do I, and hopefully the vacuum cleaner will work better now.'Bonniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15144534266883518726noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6516961001049572879.post-83851331862332063192010-01-28T19:08:00.000-08:002010-01-29T06:53:57.866-08:00College Already?<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPpkZeOx349tLEJt3JmP92lt7pH1ibbCxCVxngUN1-DppKriuwmjMvSLJWC23YoG3Y84jhPgI5MskScmen7nDy-mF4IB-lWiVTipViI14v9v-fn10AW6Yk4gi3SR_oPwcZIqVDuyzCuMai/s320/18659_1343603112334_1298933278_1014009_124975_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431995480697230546" />
I spent last Saturday at the PA College of Art & Design Open House in Lancaster, PA with my daughter, Maddie. We had a great time, it's a terrific school and I think her mind is set on this college. We've looked at others, but this seems to be the one. We spent the day checking out the city. We went to galleries, had lunch and took lots of silly pictures.

Most of the professors at the school are also working artists and the students and professors are all very supportive of each other's work and success. My daughter was able to have her portfolio reviewed by one of the professors, which gave her a great head start for next year.

I have to admit, both the city and the school seem like the perfect fit for her but I'm still sad that we're already thinking about an empty nest. :(Bonniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15144534266883518726noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6516961001049572879.post-11130281790562539782009-11-28T17:15:00.000-08:002009-11-28T17:19:32.104-08:00Black Friday Cyber MondayYesterday was my first Black Friday on Etsy and it was CRAZY! The post is titled "Relaxed Holiday Shopping" and the idea is to start your holiday shopping at a craft fair that doesn't require you to leave your house or even change out of your pajamas! There are many talented Etsy artists (and me) being featured, so if you have some time stop by and check it out!

http://www.allstrungout1.blogspot.com/Bonniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15144534266883518726noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6516961001049572879.post-9772447386623856882009-09-16T12:33:00.000-07:002009-09-16T12:45:26.627-07:00Wordless Wednesday 9-16-09MADDIE'S ARTWORK
My daughter is very artistic. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera (not unlike me at all), but I was able to get a few good pictures from my cell phone.

The bride and groom were my husband's cousin and his girlfriend of four years. They were married outdoors at the groom's parents house. The walkway was lined with pots of chrysanthemums, the minister was the same man who married the groom's parents 35 years ago and the best man was the groom's sister. The groom wore sandals, the bride's dress was made of deer hide (custom made by a woman who uses the hides of deer that are killed on the road) and the rain (as if on cue) stopped in time for the ceremony.

The reception was serenaded by the Manatawny Creek Ramblers (a local bluegrass band), the catered buffet included a pig roast (the unlucky pig was a corn-fed porker from a few towns up the road), the best man/woman gave a toast that left everyone misty-eyed, the wedding tent was in a field and the view was cornfields and sky.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPaFxGBVs7myyOm-wnQtC0nAVYnW-j-DpxQHgStQsQFYndjuRm1hGaUy2suD4BR05pPCwj6fRT4Krh5DpiMoknjpq-RABu7fdqr9XyFOsXfHi74tV6uNCR6PsKmBoXs_ImOuDvzwHKiSff/s320/Wedding.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381430305923163794" />

I would say the event was as unique and wonderful as the couple themselves. It was a truly special day and I hope the first of many to come for this great couple. I laughed so hard, I just had to share. They originated on www.ruminations.com and have been making their way around the internet. Enjoy!

1. There is a great need for sarcasm font.

2. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

3. Bad decisions make good stories.

4. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

5. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

6. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

7. The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

8. A recent study has shown that playing beer pong contributes to the spread of mono and the flu. Yeah, if you suck at it.

9. Was learning cursive really necessary?

10. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

11. Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron test is absolutely petrifying.

12. Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

13. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a dick from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!

14. Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies"

15. What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

16. While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

17. MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

18. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

19. I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.

20. Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!

21. If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.

22. Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem....

23. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

24. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.

25. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

26. 'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

27. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever.

28. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

29. I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.

30. Why is a school zone 15 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...

31. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

32. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

33. It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

34. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

35. I think that if, years down the road when I'm trying to have a kid, I find out that I'm sterile, most of my disappointment will stem from the fact that I was not aware of my condition in college.Bonniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15144534266883518726noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6516961001049572879.post-59171252854988687402009-09-04T07:44:00.001-07:002009-09-04T07:46:23.698-07:00Happy Labor Day WeekendI just wanted to wish you all a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend. Now I'd have to sit in her lap because she outgrew me a few years ago and if I asked her to sing a song with me, I think she'd reserve a room for me at the funny farm!

Her hair (once beautiful ringlet curls, now faithfully straight-ironed daily) that I used to put up in pony tails, I wouldn't even be allowed to touch anymore! Her homework that I used to help her with every night, is now so complicated (College Calculus and Advanced Chemistry, anyone?) that I'd need a PhD just to decipher it!

She's looking at colleges, making decisions for her future, planning her adult life. And all I can think is...what I wouldn't give for just one day to have my "little girl" back. Where does the time go?Bonniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15144534266883518726noreply@blogger.com3
