Mother's Day Gift Ideas

With Mother's Day approaching, my brain is in overdrive trying to come up with original gift ideas. I'm tired of giving flowers and gift cards, so I've been searching Etsy for unique handmade gifts to give (and receive!). I thought I'd share with you some of my finds.


I've had my eye on these etui manicure boxes for a while now. They would be such a clever gift idea for the mom who has everything. Etui needlework boxes are also available. This would definitely stand out and I can almost promise you no one else will be getting her the same thing! You can never go wrong with a candle. Especially a wild cherry cheesecake jumbo cupcake candle from www.sugarvillecandles.etsy.com! Does that look good enough to eat, or what? I don't think that's recommended, but it would be hard to resist. For just $16.95, you will receive a candle that is well over a 1/2 lb. and will fill your room with wild cherry cheesecake aroma! Yummy!





Of course, everyone loves jewelry! These earrings are available at www.dreambelledesign.etsy.com for only $21.00. I purchased a similar pair for myself in blue and they are absolutely stunning! The owner, Susan, is a lovely lady who is a pleasure to work with. My earrings were shipped quickly, packaged adorably and couldn't be more gorgeous. I've received tons of compliments!




Another great find was this gourmet style mini recipe album with recipe cards. I think this is so adorable! Great for the mom who loves to cook and try out new recipes. Updates

Just wanted to give an update because I've been M.I.A. on my blog lately.

I've been very busy revamping all the titles, tags and descriptions in my Etsy shop to conform with the new SEO guidelines. It's not really the way I prefer to spend my time, but it had to be done.

I've also picked up a few new wholesale accounts, which I'm very excited about! They've been keeping me busy during this slow Etsy spring.

In addition, I've been squeezing in some time to create new bridal jewelry and summer accessories that I can't wait to debut in my shop. They'll be coming soon, so keep an eye out!

On the home front, prom is coming! We picked up my daughter's gown this week for her Junior Prom. It's a gorgeous royal blue with sequin designs. I'll definitely post the pics next month.

Also, the weather's been beautiful so we've been washing down the decks, cleaning off the patio furniture, mowing the lawn...all the fun stuff that comes with nice weather. :D

Etsy Front Page

Easter's right around the corner, and Etsy is getting ready with this great front page (which also happens to feature my Pretty Pastel Hairpin Set)!

Unfortunately, my children are too old now for all the fun things we used to do for Easter. :( Spoon races, Easter egg hunts and pictures with the Easter bunny (who always managed to show up at our parties, that busy bunny). One year we had the kids and all their cousins rolling Easter eggs up a hill in our front yard with their noses to win prizes! You've heard of "What would you do for a Klondike bar?". You'd be amazed what children will do for toys from the Dollar Store and bragging rights. Aaahh, those were the days...

Black Friday Cyber Monday

Yesterday was my first Black Friday on Etsy and it was CRAZY! I loved it! Everyone must be all "shopped out" today, because it's been very slow. That gives me time to get some new creations listed in time for Cyber Monday.
